Connecting Academia and Industry
This initiative aims to enhance the Pharma curriculum, provide students with exposure to industrial environments, and assist in the placement of graduating Pharmacists in industries nationwide. With globalization leading to increased competition among industries, there is a need for Pharma Institutions to address manufacturing challenges. Additionally, it is important to prepare Pharmacy students for roles in multinational companies by introducing them to advanced technologies, formulation, analytical techniques, and research methodologies. These objectives can only be achieved well by bridging the gap between industry and the academic institute.
Functions
• Establishment of an Industry-Institute Partnership/Interaction Cell.
• Organizing workshops, conferences, and symposia with participation from both faculty and
industry professionals.
• Inviting industry experts to deliver lectures at the Institution.
• Conducting industrial testing by faculty and technicians either on-site or in the laboratory.
• Facilitating joint research programs and field studies between faculty and industry professionals
to share expertise.
• Arranging visits of faculty members to industry for study, discussions, or lecturing on topics of
mutual interest.
• Forming Memoranda of Understanding between the Institute and industries to foster strategic
and cooperative relationships.
• Engaging visiting faculty/professors from industries.
• Sponsoring Professorial Chairs by industries at the Institute.
• Establishing R&D Laboratories sponsored by industries at the Institute.
• Instituting scholarships/fellowships funded by industries for students at the Institute.
By fostering a strong partnership between the academic institution and the pharmaceutical industry, the IIIC aims to create a seamless integration of academic knowledge with practical industry applications. This symbiotic relationship will not only enhance the educational experience of students but also provide industries with innovative solutions and a skilled workforce ready to meet the challenges of the global market.
